Increase the weight of your harvest with Dense

Avoid loose and airy buds when using Dense in your garden

Have you ever had big, beautiful flowers after harvest, but when it came time to weight them, it wasn’t what you were expecting from your yields? You were ready for your best harvest to date with big buds, but they are not as hard and dense as you wanted them to be.

In your garden, there can be environmental factors that result in airy flowers. If the temperature around the top of your grow’s canopy is too hot, your flowers are going to loosen up resulting in an airy final product. Growers will also find that excessive levels of CO2 and hormone application can cause your yield to miss the mark on the final weight they are after.

But if you have mastered your garden environment, you are growing a healthy strain, and you have the rest of your nutrient program dialled in, you are ready to add a nutrient supplement like Dense. This is a 0-0-62 powder nutrient, delivering solely potassium (K) to your plant in late flower. When you mix Dense according to the directions, without adding any other nutrients, you can end up with a feeding solution as high as 1400 PPM of straight potassium (K). Even after one application, you will see an increase in the weight of your buds.

In 20 years of doing this, I have never seen 1400 PPM of K applied to a plant. Now that we’ve been doing it, we’re seeing great results. My clients come to me and they say, ‘That works.’

What is Dense?

Dense is our highly-concentrated potassium supplement used in the last weeks of flower. This dry fertilizer is a specially formulated blend of potassium that is used separately from your regular feeding program. The power of potassium (K)

Dense is a one of a kind dry fertilizer that delivers a large dose of potassium (K) during heavy fruiting and flowering. This is completely unique from any other GreenPlanet Nutrients product we offer. Plants that are lacking in potassium during the later stages of bloom run the risk of producing airy and loose flowers. By introducing a 0-0-62 straight potassium formula to your plants, Dense ensures you get the maximum weight out of your flowers when it comes time to harvest your crop.

The results of Dense comes from the key role potassium plays in the development of flowering plants. Potassium is responsible for sugar production and the plant’s ability to store the energy it needs for healthy and vigorous flower development. It will also increase the strength of the plant at a cellular level to promote the production of sturdy stems that support large flower sites. These benefits of potassium make Dense a must use for cultivators looking to get the most out of their buds.

How do I use Dense in my grow?

Depending on your grow medium and grow system, there are 2 different ways to apply Dense:

Soil/Soilless/Coco Application: Use 1-2 grams per 1 litre (4-8 grams per 1 gallon) of water once a week. Use only in the last 3 weeks of flower, allowing at least one week for flush. Do not mix Dense with any other nutrients, mix with water only.


Hydroponic Application: Flush your nutrient reservoir of the existing nutrient solution. Add 1-2 grams per 1 litre (4-8 grams per 1 gallon) of water. Circulate in your system for up to 48 hours. Flush and then replace it with fresh nutrient solution, then repeat the following week. Use only in the last 3 weeks of flower, allowing at least one week for flush. Do not mix Dense with any other nutrients, mix with water only.

            Dealing with liquid fertilizer for the first time is a challenge, especially when the stack of nutrients involves complicated ratios and constant pH balancing. From experience, we get how frustrating and time consuming it can be for growers. With that in mind, we designed our innovative 2 Part system to change the game forever. Dual Fuel, plain and simple, is easy to use. Whether or not you are a beginner or an expert, all you need for a successful garden is two bottles: Dual Fuel 1 & 2. Dual Fuel was designed to balance perfectly in the water at a range of 6.0 – 6.2. Although checking the pH of your nutrient solution is a good habit, it is in no way required to ensure the efficacy of your daily feeding schedule. With this attribute, our Dual Fuel feed program can save you time in your daily gardening routine and also keep your plants happy and ensure optimum nutrient uptake with an effortlessly ideal pH.

            Even more attractive to beginners is the unmatched utility of the Dual Fuel feed program. In a sense, it’s foolproof.  Our Dual Fuel feed program was formulated to be used in a 1:1 ratio with each part. HOW DOES IT WORK?

What is N-P-K?

All of our fertilizers are clearly marked with three numbers that represent nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K), or NPK for short. These indicate the three major nutrient components of fertilizers that are essential for the growth, flowering and overall health of plants.

Understanding the ratio of the fertilizers

The NPK ratio isn’t rocket science and once you understand the principals, you can use this quick universal tool for all your cultivation endeavors. From understanding NPK values, you will be able to select the right product based on what your plants actually need.

For example, if you are growing leafy vegetables then you may want to apply a fertilizer that has a higher nitrogen level to encourage leafy growth. If you are growing flowers, you may want to apply a fertilizer that has a higher phosphorus level to encourage more blooming.

What are these three Macro Nutrients?

Firstly, you need to know what these three macronutrients are and why they are the most vital nutrients your plants need.

Nitrogen (N)

Nitrogen is an important plant nutrient that fuels lush growth, deep green foliage, and resistance to adverse conditions, such as diseases and pests. Without nitrogen, plants grow slowly and develop small, stunted, and deformed leaves that are yellow or pale green. However, too much nitrogen can harm a plant and may cause leaves to turn yellow or brown. Too much nitrogen is especially dangerous for young plants that are not yet well-rooted.

Phosphorus (P)

Phosphorus, which promotes overall plant health and healthy tissue development, is especially important for young plants in the process of establishing roots. Phosphorus also assists in the development of seeds. Plants with adequate phosphorus are strong and productive, resulting in more flowers, vegetables or fruits. A phosphorus deficiency results in slow plant growth, discoloration, and stunted, disfigured leaves with a scorched appearance.

Potassium (K)

Potassium contributes to strong roots and plant vigor, boosting the plant’s immune system and strengthening tolerance to pests and disease, as well environmental factors such as drought or bad weather. Plants with adequate potassium will display vibrant floral production. A plant with a potassium deficiency may suffer from stunted growth and scorched leaves, especially on the leaf tips. The deficiency is most evident on the lower and middle leaves of the plant.

What do the NPK numbers mean?

So now you know what nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) are, it’s now time to understand what the number values mean in relation to the NPK. 

The higher the number, the more concentrated the nutrient is in the fertilizer. For example, numbers on fertilizer listed as 20-5-5 has four times more nitrogen in it than phosphorus and potassium. A 20-20-20 fertilizer has twice as much concentration of all three nutrients than 10-10-10. 

A fertilizer that contains only one macro-nutrient will have “0” in the other values. For example, if a fertilizer is 10-0-0, then it only contains nitrogen.

How to Grow a Consistent Crop

Growing crops that are abundant one year, but waning the next – does not a happy farmer make. Consistent crops that flourish year after year is what hobby farmers and large-scale producers alike are looking for.

As such, there are a few things to consider to ensure your growth is optimal each and every year.

Choosing Your Plants Wisely

If you are a hobby farmer and are looking to grow a garden to produce your own – well, produce, you will want to pick young plants that are bushy and have not flowered yet. This allows the plant to acclimate in your garden environment and growing conditions, with little to no shock in the replanting process.

Replanting plants that are already flowering – means they are also potentially seeding, and puts too much stress on a plant already accustom to its environment. So choose bushy but non-flowered plants that will adjust well, to ensure your garden grows as expected

Water. Feed. Repeat.

Just as humans will become dehydrated without water, or hungry without food …so too do plants become under such conditions.

Annuals, in particular, have short roots, so if the surface of the soil is dry, or if all the nutrients have been sucked from that soil, you are going to want to water and feed your plants sufficiently. Feeding your plants every 3-6 weeks with a water soluble fertilizer, will ensure they stay healthy and robust for the season in which they are intended to grow.

Getting rid of dead growth will allow your plants to flourish, and it will also prevent seed pods from forming. If your flowers have began to lay dormant during the time they should still be blooming, it is likely they need some maintenance and grooming.
